Three ways to tie a scarf

The loop

Fold a long scarf in two and place it round your neck. Tuck both ends through the loop and draw tightly or loosely together. Or fold one end of the scarf, for instance, under your foot and wind the scarf into a tight roll holding the other end of it firmly. Take hold of the middle of the roll with one hand and both ends with the other. Grip the scarf so that the roll does not slip. Let go of the middle, and the scarf will turn once more. Lay the scarf round your neck and tie as above.

The triangular collar

Fold a square scarf once. Take hold of its corners diagonally and fold it once more so that one side is straight and the other angled. Lay the scarf with the straight side on your shoulders and tie the ends. The knot can be placed either in front, on one shoulder or at the back.

The bow tie

Tie a loose knot in the middle of a long scarf. Lay the scarf round your neck so that the knot is centre front. Turn the ends round your neck and back to the front. Tuck both ends through the knot and draw tight, holding both ends.
